Jonathan spent the definitive years of his life growing up in the wide open landscapes of the Namib Desert, Eastern Free State, Namaqualand and various other remote parts of Southern Africa. After receiving a first class degree in Cinematography in Cape Town he spent a number of years in commercial film making before finding his true passion in landscape and lifestyle photography. His style and inspiration stem from the beauty of the natural environment, forming narratives through the interaction of subject and surroundings. Favouring the manipulation of ambient light adds to the mood of his images, emphasising subtle details without drawing the viewers attention away from the narrative. Combining his filmic background with photographic experience, he values the importance of story telling in his images and is able to express a greater tale through a collection of shots because of this sensibility for creating scenes and capturing “The moment”. He lives in London and supports a worldwide client base. For further information about his work or simply to shoot the breeze about adventures past over a coffee or brownie, please contact him via the details in the Contact page or various Social Media applications below.
